Ingredients

  • Cast Iron

  • Flaxseed Oil

  • Paper Towels

  • Oven

Directions

  • Strip Cast Iron Seasoning:
  • Put pan in oven.
  • Turn on Self-Cleaning option.
  • When self cleaning cycle is over, let pan cool and wipe ash off pan.
  • Reseasoning:
  • Pour 1 tsp – 1 Tbsp of flaxseed oil into the pan.
  • Rub it in and all over. Use elbow grease.
  • Wipe off as much oil as possible.
  • Place pan in cold oven.
  • Turn oven on to highest oven temperature (usually about 500’F).
  • When oven reaches temperature, set timer for 1 hour.
  • After timer, shut off oven. Never open the oven door.
  • Let pan cool for 2 hours, or more if it’s too hot to touch after 2 hours.
  • Repeat from Step 4 for a total of 6 times.
